Uncle Vincent's Memorial service
We spent last weekend with the Aldrin family for my Great Uncle's memorial service. It was a perfect day by the pool, and the rain stopped in time for this occasion. Many family members, myself included spoke of thier memories with Vincent, and I thought it was a touching ceremony.
Everyone was there, even a cousin from Sweden which was wonderful.
After dinner we went back to Carolyns room for cookies, and Lisa shared some great photos of her Dad.
Of course William got along with the ladies, here he is with Colleen, who is my Dads cousin, so I am not sure...Williams 3rd cousin? Katherine would know!
This is Carolyn and me at the end of the night. It was a very memorable occasion!

Phyllis came to visit
Phyllis came over for lunch last week when Katherine was visiting. It was a lovely visit and we had a great time!
Phyllis brought the most delightful cake in the shape of a mouse, which was funny and ironic because we had a mouse in the house the night before! (Our cat brought in the mouse and it got loose, Papa got it!)
Look how sweet this cake is! We ate the backside off first cause he was so sweet! Thanks Phyllis!

California Science Center
The California Science Center is a fun and free series of museums in downtown LA.
They have a lunar rover and several real astronaught uniforms!
This is the rocket that was made at Papa Draytons work.
We saw our first 3D movie, it was about prehistoric dinosaurs, the best part was when the dino pooped, talk about 3D!
Say Cheese!

Rest in Peace Chester Kitty
Today is a very sad day. We took our new kitten "Chester" to the vet to be fixed. The Dr. called and told us the cat had a congenital defect with his penis, basically the opening was to small to allow him to urinate properly. He said a specialist surgeon would need to perform a complex surgery to repair the problem. So with many tears and heart ache Joe and I decided it would be best to put him down. In fact I am crying as I sit here typing this message. How sad a thing to have happen to our precious cat. William was so enamoured by Chester, and he had finally been accepted by all the other animals. My Dads dog Woody was constantly being "attacked" by Chester, and he would race around like a kitty is supposed to, ut always came when he was called. Hopefully now he is in pet heavan, playing with all the other pets we have loved over the years.
